Effect of Fe on Calcined Ni(OH)2 Anode in Alkaline Water Electrolysis

Ni (hydr)oxide is a promising and inexpensive material for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts known to dramatically increase the activity when used with Fe. Herein, we basified Ni(II) solution coated layered Ni(OH)2 on coins prepare template high stability activity. To evaluate catalytic during high-current-density operation, analyzed electrochemical physicochemical properties before after constant current (CC) operation. The electrode surface exhibited higher initial than that NiO surface; however, OER operation at high-current density, degradation occurred owing structural destruction. of electrodes improved CC because changes electrode-surface caused by subsequent Fe incorporation from impurity in electrolyte.
